On October 9th, 2020 many hopeful students at Dixie State University auditioned for the opportunity to travel across the world and learn dance from experienced instructors. This study abroad program takes place in Florence, Italy for 3 weeks during the end of June and the beginning of July. Students will spend 5 days in the studio being taught, and learning an assortment of dance styles, and on the other 2 days they are allowed to explore all Italy has to offer. Students will also receive an elective art credit. Jenny Mair is the faculty leader for this trip. She talks with the teacher over in Italy and coordinates the whole experience. She also is involved while in Italy. Jenny teaches dance to many of the students over there as well. She puts in a lot of work so that this is available for the students here at Dixie State University. Sixteen girls auditioned to go, and anywhere from twelve to all sixteen could be chosen to have this life changing opportunity.
