The men’s soccer team struck back again as it won its fourth straight game against BYU-Hawaii.

From the beginning, it was a rough game. A BYU-Hawaii player received a yellow card only six minutes into the game for grabbing a DSC player’s shorts on a potential breakaway.

Keeping the ball on their side of the field, the Seasiders had three shots on goal that were missed.

DSC freshman forward Ryan Benavente received a yellow card 45 minutes in after pushing down a BYU-Hawaii defender. Both teams remained tied at zero.

That’s when Benavente was given a PK and put Dixie at the top 1-0 just before half.

But the Seasiders netted a goal and tied it up with 25 minutes left in the second half.

BYU-H defender Sean Huckstep received a second yellow card that turned into a red, and the Seasiders were down to 10 on the field.

Dixie took control of the game when freshman defender Eric Christensen scored a free kick and won 2-1.

The Red Storm play Hawaii Pacific University on Thursday at 4:30 p.m. at Hansen Stadium.
