After Washington County Police received a call about hearing shootings, one man was arrested on six offenses.
Rodrigo Alexander Lopez was arrested on Sunday, August 21, near Lower Sand Cove Reservoir. Detective Nate Abbott told SUN News that Lopez was among a group of individuals who were questioned about the firearms when deputies responded to the call.
Police say Lopez gave them false identification, and upon investigation authorities say that Lopez is an illegal immigrant, which led to his offense of falsifying government records. Abbott said one of Lopez’s firearms had a removed or altered serial number. Lopez has four counts of weapon-category II offenses due to the fact that he allegedly possessed several firearms illegally. According to Abbott, no other individuals were arrested out of the group.
