DSU Week of Welcome kicks off with carnival

By:

Though few students would call leaving summer vacation behind fun, Dixie State University students had joyful salutations upon returning to campus Monday.

Starting off DSU’s Week of Welcome, free french toast sticks were served at The Diagonal lifting students’ spirits. Energy was high throughout the day, leading up to the Week of Welcome Carnival at the Encampment Mall, which featured bounce houses, zip lines, games, and food.

“I couldn’t feel any younger now,” Travis Van Hoff, lead singer of VanLadyLove, belted, head banging to the cheers of students reveling after a day of classes.

The celebrations continue throughout the week with a discounted showing of Tuacahn’s ‘The Hunchback of Notre Dame’ Tuesday, Club Rush Wednesday and Thursday, a performance by comedian Jessi Campbell Wednesday, and the annual Foam Dance Friday.
