Lightning delays women’s soccer, HPU comes out ahead

By:

The Dixie State College women’s soccer team lost its second straight match against Hawai’i Pacific University Saturday.

The game started out even, but there was a delay 20 minutes into the game because of surrounding lightning.

The game was back on 30 minutes later, and it was hard to move the ball for DSC because of the wet game.

HPU scored its first goal to win the game 1-0 and give Dixie its second straight loss.

Although the Red Storm lost, the team has some excellent talent.

Sophomore forward Jennifer Mason was pronounced Player of the Week for the Pacific West Conference in the first slate of releases.

The Red Storm play Grand Canyon University on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Hansen Stadium.
