Red Storm men’s soccer draws against HPU

The Dixie State College men’s soccer team has had a second scoreless draw for the season after its game on Oct. 11.

The first half had three yellow cards for Hawai’i Pacific University. No player could seem to make a goal with all of the midfield action. This scoreless half had HPU with six shots on goal and Dixie with five.

The next half started off aggressively as well. Freshman midfielder Michael Ropelato received a yellow card in the first 45 seconds, and the score still remained tied at zero.

Junior goalkeeper Tyler Walters made multiple saves for the night as he diligently kept the Sea Warriors from scoring.

The game went into overtime as the Red Storm failed to put points on the board throughout the 90-minute game.

The game resulted in Dixie’s second scoreless draw of the season. Dixie is 5-6-2 overall and 4-3-2 in the Pacific West Conference.

The Red Storm play Grand Canyon University on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. at Hansen Stadium.
