The 2012 Dixie State College Student Elections have several rarities this time around. Not only is this the first year that people cannot technically run with a party, but the position for student body president has only one candidate, Brody Mikesell. Since he is running unopposed, he is Dixie’s automatic winner.
This year students are able to vote for Student Body President, Vice President of Academics and Vice President of Clubs, which used to be an appointed position by the elected party.
Another unique situation is Ean Brandon’s choice to run as a write-in.
The elections are heated as the candidates are all acquaintances and run in similar circles among Student Government, DSC Ambassadors and our many clubs and organizations.
Each individual has a passion for leadership and involvement, and all of the candidates have a great love for Dixie State.
Part 1 of the DSC Elections features the new student body president and both candidates running for the office of VP of clubs, Gregory Noel and Ean Brandon.
