Stephen Douglas Knell tragically passed away on July 21, 2011, in Cedar City Utah.

He was born in Carmel California on March 6, 1957, to J. Douglas Knell and Janet Wasden Knell. Steve was 54.

Steve graduated from Cedar High School in 1975. He went on to attend Brigham Young University, where he received a B.S. Degree in Financial Management. He continued his education at the University of the Pacific in San Francisco, CA, where he received his Doctorate in Dentistry with Honors. Steve practiced Dentistry for several years. He also worked in the hospitality industry in Cedar City. Steve was a brilliant scholar, but his true love has always been music. He was a talented singer and musician and enjoyed performing with various musical groups in Utah and California. While attending BYU, he was a member of the performing group, Young Ambassadors, and was able to travel the world sharing his talents.

In addition to Steve’s love for music, he loved his children very much. They were everything to him and brought him great pride and joy.

Steve is survived by: Trinity, mother of his children, Kennedy, Rylee and Jackson. Gregory (Mimi), Brian (Kelsey), Megan, his grandchildren, Max and Laurel, his parents Doug and Janet Knell, his sisters, Leilani (Jerrie Wilson), Joanne (Dave Pennock), and Nancy (Rick Osborn).

A funeral service will be held in Steve’s honor Tuesday, July 26, 2011; at 1:00 p.m. Visitation with family will be from 11:30 – 12:30. The service will be held at the LDS

Chapel located at 638 E. Canyon Center Drive in Cedar City, Utah. Interment at Cedar City Cemetery directly following the Service.
