Possible Post Office Closures

By:

With people using online services to pay bills, send notes and messages, and get the word out, the United States Postal Service is seeing a drastic decline in products and services. That decline, coupled with a weekend economy, is prompting the Postal Service to consider other options.

The 3,700 outlets coming under review will be narrowed to 1,400 outlets that will then close. Since January, 280 offices have closed and 200 have finished the review process and will remain open. USPS Marketing Director Robert Vunder told SUN News that 14 post offices throughout the Beehive State could close, some this coming year. The St. George locations will remain open, although other changes may occur. Last year the USPS lost eight billion dollars as a result of a decline in advertising mail.
