Sometimes plans for family fun go awry. An elderly woman found that out the hard way Friday in downtown St. George.
65-year-old Linda Williamson was enjoying the new carousel in town square with her husband and grandson when an 8-foot fiberglass panel, weighing about 25 pounds, fell on her head.
She was taken to the Dixie Regional Medical Center Emergency Room for safety precautions. Medical personnel found her head and neck injuries did not appear to be serious, but Monday afternoon, she returned to the hospital due to continued pain related to the incident.
Officials re-opened the downtown St. George attraction after locating and solving the problem.
