Washington, UT – Mary Weber Fox passed away at her home in Washington, Utah on June 9, 2011. She was born in Gooding, Idaho on June 17, 1936 to Clara Weir and William Henry Weber.
The family moved to Eugene, Oregon where she received her early education. After graduating from high school, she came to Lehi, Utah to go to BYU and to visit the Sister Missionary responsible for her joining the LDS Church. It was at this time that her future husband, Harold C. Fox, was returning home to Lehi from the armed services. As it turned out, the Sister Missionary was Harold’s cousin. They met, dated for a few years, married in the Salt Lake LDS Temple September 17, 1958 and started a their married life together.
For the next few decades, she worked, went to school, traveled and played golf. After several Universities and quiet a few years, she completed her education goal of earning her Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Management from the University of Phoenix in 1990. She was an active member of the church, holding several teaching and service positions. She and her husband also served a Service Mission for the seminary of the church for two school years. Although she had no children of her own, she loved spending time with her nieces and nephews, She was a wonderful lady and will be sorely missed by many.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Silver Stone LDS Ward Chapel, 1575 North 1085 West, Washington, Utah. Visitations will be held Tuesday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Metcalf Mortuary, 288 West St. George Blvd. and on Wednesday, prior to services, from 9:30 a.m to 10:30 a.m at the Chapel. Interment will be held Thursday, June 16, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at the American Fork City Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Metcalf Mortuary, (435) 673-4221.
