Harry Glen Sadler

Cedar City, Utah – Our beloved father and grandfather, was taken from us unexpectedly on June 8, 2011. We are at peace, knowing he has gone to meet our mother, his sweetheart and eternal companion. Harry was born June 10, 1924 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Lillard McKinley Sadler and Belle Emma Camomile. He married Anna Eva Rausch on October 24, 1942. During WWII Harry worked as a serviceman stationed at an army hospital in the Philippines. Harry and Anna raised their nine children in Salt Lake City. They later served an LDS Temple mission to the Philippines. Harry worked as an electrician at an oil refinery for most of his career. Quite the handyman, he was good at fixing anything that was broken. Harry had a pilot license and though he didn’t do any flying after he started raising a family, he loved sharing his flying stories. He served as a scout leader for many years while his children were young. Harry enjoyed photography and traveled with a camera club taking beautiful photos of scenic Utah. He also loved to take his family camping, and at home he could often be found spending hours beautifying his yard with flowers and trees, or building a pond. In his later years he loved to use computer software to manipulate photos or make a computer animation. He especially enjoyed square dancing and socializing with his many friends.

Harry was preceded in death by his wife Anna. He is survived by their nine children, all residents of Utah: Mike (Paula) Sadler of West Jordan; Marie Sadler of Apple Valley; Merlin (MaryAnn) Sadler of West Jordan; Becky (Russ) Fawson of Cedar City; Colleen Sadler of Cedar City; Doug (Martha) Sadler of Magna; Andy Sadler of Kearns; Nancy Sadler of Hurricane; Louise (Hal) Whiting of St. George. Many grandchildren and great grandchildren also survive him.

Funeral services will be held Monday, June 13 at 11:00 AM, in the Cedar Meadows Ward Chapel, 370 N. 4050 W. Cedar City, Utah. There will be no viewing; however, those wishing to pay their condolences to the family may do so at 10:00 AM in the same building.
