Edwin O. Collette, 73, passed away on Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at his home, in New Mexico.  Edwin “Bud” Collette was born May 18, 1938 to David Edwin Collette and Izetta Coila Owen in Montana. He served in the US Air Force and while on leave, he met Claree Andra Williams and fell in love. They were married in The St. George, Utah Temple for a time and all eternity on December 29, 1959. They resided in Las Vegas, NV where they raised 5 children. He then moved to Carlsbad 3 years ago after his wife’s death. Bud and Claree spent 49 years together in this life and are now reunited to spend eternity with each other. Bud was nicknamed for his loving and friendly nature. He never met a stranger and was a “Bud” to everyone he came across. He loved spending time with his family and his dog, Oscar. His steadfast devotion to his family and his Heavenly Father was an example to all who were lucky enough to know him. His example lives on in his children and grandchildren and he will never be forgotten.

He is preceded in death by his wife and parents. Bud is survived by his daughters: Coila Boatman and Kiffanie (Andrew) Twitchell of Carlsbad, NM and Cammy (Timothy) Lwinski of Pahrump, Utah; sons: Kirk (Tori) Collette of Vernal, Utah and Brandon (Laura) Collette of Las Vegas, NV.

Funeral services will be held Thurs. Jun. 23, 2011 at 6:30 p.m. at the West Funeral Home Chapel, New Mexico. There will be a viewing Saturday, June 25, 2011, from 3:00-4:30 p.m. at Spilsbury Mortuary, 110 S. Bluff St., St. George. Interment will take place following the viewing at the Hurricane City Cemetery in Hurricane, Utah.
